After plenty of research in the library and talking to multiple guides at the cemetery I created an A3, 58 page, hand bound publication exploring the structures in and around Highgate Cemetery.
I used 35mm film to take all the photographs and wrote all the text myself. The front cover image is a photograph I developed in the darkroom, transferred onto the computer and printed black on black for the sheen effect.
I used Adobe Lightroom, Photoshop and Illustrator to create the maps and InDesign for the layout. I bound the book myself using the Japanese binding technique.
Creating this book inspired a personal project to cycle around London photographing the rest of the Magnificent Seven cemeteries.
